Amy PhelpsDoctor of Physical Therapy
Amy L. Phelps PT, DPT, CIMI is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and mother of two active little girls. She has extensive clinical experience in the areas of pediatrics and the aging individual. Amy was born and raised in a small town in Maine and knew from an early age that she was called to serve those in need. She received her BS in Liberal Arts with a minor in Psychology from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. She then went on to volunteer with Americore in an after-school program where she served as a reading tutor and assisted in running the government assisted snack program and with marketing.
Amy entered Chapman University’s DPT program in California a year later and received a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. She became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) in 2010 and is actively working toward a certificaton in women’s heatlh. Through her own struggles with changes in physical ability and the frustration of dealing with insurance companies that fall short of providing easy access to necessary care, Amy developed a unique perspective of compassion and understanding that makes her an effective provider of patient care.
Nathan PhelpsDoctor of Physical Therapy
Nathan G. Phelps PT, DPT, OCS is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Nathan was 1 of only 64 specialists in the state at the time of his examination, which is less than 4% of the current treating physical therapists. He is also a teaching assistant in orthopedics at George Fox University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Keeping him up to date on the most current treatment approaches.
Nathan received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Oregon State University, and then went to Chapman University where he graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Patients who are experiencing musculoskeletal pain, neurological pain or need post-operative rehab would greatly benefit from his expertise.
Nathan also has advanced knowledge in diagnostics, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise. He combines a whole body approach through a differential diagnostic evaluation to treat your specific pain condition. This provides you the best opportunity to reduce/eliminate your pain from daily living.
Rikki MarkhamDoctor of Physical Therapy
Rikki Markham is new to the team at Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Being a native of Alaska, she finds herself at home with the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. Rikki received her undergraduate degree from Southern Oregon University in 2011 and went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Pacific University in 2014.
In addition to treating a wide array of orthopedic conditions, she also has a background in pelvic rehabilitation including women’s health. Rikki has always been a very active person and keeps herself busy with training for half marathons, hiking, baking, and spending time with family, her husband Matt, and their black lab Marley.
Sydney OsborneDoctor of Physical Therapy
Sydney Osborne, DPT received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Linfield College. Sydney is very active, as she played basketball for the Linfield Wildcats and coached a high school freshman team. Prior to attending graduate school, she had the opportunity to travel abroad in Japan, work as a Health Fitness instructor and earn her Personal Trainer certification through the American College of Sports Medicine. Sydney then went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Arizona. Since returning to Oregon, she focuses her expertise in the outpatient orthopedic setting.
She specializes in pelvic rehabilitation, treating pelvic floor dysfunction in both men and women, pregnancy and postpartum care, and other interconnected conditions of the pelvis, hip and spine. In her free time she enjoys training for both half and full Ironman triathlons, hiking, and paddle boarding!
Ken ScogginDoctor of Physical Therapy
Ken Scoggin is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who recently moved to Oregon from Vancouver, WA where he was the lead therapist for two outpatient PT clinics. He received his doctorate from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and his Bachelors of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Oregon. While attending UofO, he was a member of the track and cross country team. He is a native Oregonian and will be working with us full time.
Ken is working towards becoming an Orthopedic Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Along with treating the diverse field of orthopedics he has experience in treating running and sports injuries. Outside of the clinic Ken is interested in running and exploring the Portland metro area for the next good place to eat.
Jenine PrinzingOffice Manager
Jenine is the Office Manager at Advanced Orthopedic. Her responsibilities encompass many aspects of our business, including billing, office management and customer service. Her incredible organization skills keeps our team and office running smoothly and our clients smiling.
She is the friendly voice that our clients have grown so accustomed to hearing when calling in to our office, and she takes great pleasure in making sure they are each taken care of.
Shannon MahoneyPhysical Therapy Aide
Shannon is the physical therapy aide, performing tasks that include restocking and working with patients on education, modalities, and exercises.
She is aspiring to attend physical therapy school to earn her doctorate. Shannon truly loves being a part of a person’s healing process and she’s excited to begin her career with Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
